| "This was a project I did when I was attending The Art Institute of California-San Diego, for my 2-D studio class. The purpose of this class was to have students tackle all the jobs of an animation production company and create a single piece of work for the quarter. Each student in the class was given an old radio commercial from the 1950s and 60s, for which they had to create a story for and make their own animated short.
We were required to do everything ourselves, no group work involved at all. This meant we did all our own character designs, storyboards, backgrounds, timing, lip sync (if any), animation, coloring, and compositing. The style of animation is done in the Limited Animation style, meaning the character was broken up into parts so you wouldn't have to draw the character again every single time you wanted a certain action. Best example of this kind of animation would be like the Flintstones or any Hanna Barbara cartoon. Although I really don't like this style of animation since its "cheap", it was necessary to use because of the restriction of time I had to complete the whole thing. Hence the reason this style is used, its fast and allows you to get things done with less people. So all in all, this took roughly 8 weeks to finish." - Kalum
